Trip #5: Orangeburg, South Carolina—
(April 30, 2026)
On this TJPS Truth In Transit investigation, I visited Orangeburg, South Carolina, after university leadership formally invited Republican Lt. Governor Pamela Evette to be a commencement speaker for graduation.
Upon being informed, they unequivocally disagreed with the decision, and it sparked a wave of resistance! In this report, I tell the history of resistance behind this HBCU, how students mobilized and won victory, and the power of using your voice to effectuate change!
Trip #8: Downtown Charleston, SC—
(May 12-19, 2026)
On this TJPS Truth In Transit investigation, I’m in my hometown, downtown Charleston, to deliver a powerhouse report on voting rights. The report, filmed primarily in downtown Charleston and my home studio, will feature the history of Black resistance, interviews with influential officials active in the movement, and how we're doing the hard work to forge a new path, ushering in a new wave of unmitigated resistance, persistence, and change.
Trip #4: Houston, Texas—
(March 16-21, 2026)
On this TJPS Truth In Transit investigation, I visited Houston, Texas, where residents of the historically Black Fifth Ward are fighting back against a multi-billionaire railroad company that caused a cancer cluster in their community. Over the course of my investigation, I analyzed hundreds of documents and reports, interviewed residents and community leaders, and saw firsthand what’s happening.
Trip #7: Charleston, South Carolina—
(May 12, 2026)
On this TJPS Truth In Transit investigation, I visited Mother Emmanuel AME Church in my hometown, Charleston, SC. This is a historically Black church in my community, and a central part of Black resistance and power. Ever since the U.S Supremacist Court overturned the 1965 Voting Rights Act, I’ve been more emotionally connected to my ancestors and more persistent than ever in the resistance movement! I’m working on a multi-day Truth In Transit field report on the history of voting rights and why it matters. Please support my work!
Trip #10: Downtown Charleston, SC—
(June 19, 2026)
On this TJPS Truth In Transit investigation, I’m reporting live from Downtown Charleston at the International African American Museum, where the 3rd annual Juneteenth celebration festival, J.O.Y., transpired, featuring food trucks, live music, painting, and Black owned businesses. In this report, I tell the history of Juneteenth, interview the Public Historian of IAAAM, capture footage, and speak with Black business leaders.
Trip #3: Landover, Maryland—

On this TJPS Truth In Transit investigation, I visited Landover, Maryland, where locals in Prince George's County are resisting the development of massive high-scale AI data centers. I go over the detrimental effects these facilities are having on the environment and on communities across the country. In this one-hour and six-minute report, you will see firsthand what it's like to be on the front lines and how community organizing and local activism are effectuating change. Trip #6: Charleston, South Carolina—

On this TJPS Truth In Transit investigation, I was in my hometown, Charleston, South Carolina, to witness the power of people-powered resistance. In this report, I follow members of the Union of Southern Service Workers (USSW), as they protest and voice their opposition regarding corporate greed, worker exploitation, and the erosion of human rights.
Trip #9: North Charleston, SC—
(May 13-25, 2026)
On this TJPS Truth In Transit Investigation, I’m in North Charleston, SC, for a report at the Ferndale Mobile Home Park, where residents potentially face displacement and homelessness, after a $4.9 million purchase by New Tides LLC, a real estate investment company. During this investigation, I spoke with residents, members of the Ferndale Mobile Home Tenant Union, and covered the activism as it unfolded.
